Boys Race 10:05

The 2024 champion Niwot of Colorado looks to defend their title as their top four runners return from last year. Only Loudoun Valley and Newbury Park boys have repeated as boy's champions. Christian Brothers of New Jersey is a familiar NXN team as they have made 16 appearances at NXN and they look like one of the contenders to reach the podium. A pair of Jesuit schools, one in California and one in Oregon are also serious podium threats. Herriman boys won NXN in 2023 and have the potential individual champion in Jackson Spencer to help his team reach the podium. Southlake Carroll of Texas has made it to NXN a record 17 times and also have a low stick in Caden Leonard leading the team.

Individually, Spencer of Herriman has won impressive races from the deep NXR SW race to Woodbridge to setting the course record at the Clovis Invitational. Leonard of Southlake Carroll is the top returner from the 2024 NXN race with his third place finish. Other challengers to the podium include NXR Heartland winner Sean Fries of Minnetonka (MN), Marcelo Mantecon of Belen Jesuit Prep (FL) and Sean Gray of Portsmouth (RI).

West coast boy's schools racing on Saturday include podium contenders Jesuit (CA) and Jesuit (OR). Lincoln (OR), Redondo Union (CA), Mira Costa (CA) and San Clemente (CA) are the other teams from the West coast. West coast athletes to watch include Cohen Butler of Camas (WA), Garrett Faught of Crater (OR), Jayden Warner of Warrenton (OR) and Conor Lott of Clovis North (CA).
Girls Race 11:35

Wayzata of Minnesota dominated NXR Heartland and looks to be one of the team favorites. Lone Peak of Utah won NXN last year and return five of their seven varsity runners and hope to defend their title. Buchanan of California finished third last year at NXN and after winning the California State Meet are aiming to return to the podium. Buchanan won a close state title team battle with Mira Costa. Union Catholic of New Jersey has been highly ranked all season and will also be a podium threat.

Possible individual champions could be Natasza Dudek of Ann Arbor Pioneer (MI) who set the NXR MW course record for her win. Other contenders are Blair Bartlett of Lawrenceville (NJ) who won NXR NE, Averi Lowen of Bowdon (GA) who won NXR SE and Summer Wilson of Irvine (CA) who set the course record at the California State Meet. Addy Ritzenhein of Niwot won NXN in 2023 and has the experience to win.

West coast teams racing on Saturday include the Buchanan, who has a knack of placing in the top three at NXN, Mira Costa, who came close to beating Buchanan last week at the California State Meet, JSerra (CA), Sehome (WA) and Trabuco Hills (CA). Besides Summer Wilson, there are a number of west coast girls who can run in the top pack including Jaelyn Williams of Eastlake (CA), Aelo Curtis of Ventura (CA), Amaya Bharadwaj of Palo Alto (CA), Nelida Dalgas of North Salem (OR), Ella Mogannam of Lick Wilmerding (CA) and Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard (WA).
