Nike Portland XC Recap

Nike Portland XC – September 30

Jim Danner Championship

The Jim Danner Championship is named after Aloha High School cross country coach Jim Danner who led the host team Aloha in the 1980s and had several state champion teams and state champion individuals. Coach Danner passed away in 1989 and the individual award and the premier race of the meet is in his honor.

The course is three one-mile loops of rolling terrain and earlier in the week, the Portland area experienced its first of a series of rainy days. The day, though, started out cloudy and cleared into a sunny afternoon.
