NCAA West Regional - November 14, 2025

Haggin Oaks Golf Course - Sacramento, CA


Sacramento State hosts the NCAA Division 1 West Regional at Haggin Golf Course. The women start the meet at 9:00 am on the 6k course and the men run at 10:00 with a 10k course. The top two teams automatically qualify to the NCAA Championships held the following Saturday in Columbia, Missouri.

Women's Race 9:00


University of Oregon women are ranked number one in the region and are coming off their Big 10 Championship win with a meet recored low score of 18. Stanford women are ranked second in the region after finishing fourth in the ACC Championships. Other teams to looking to qualify include Washington, Washington State and Gonzaga.

Oregon women finished 1-2-3 at the Big Ten Championship with Diana Cherotich, Juliet Cherubet and Silan Ayyildiz leading the way. Sophia Kennedy of Stanford led the Cardinal in the ACC Championship with a seventh place finish. Rosemary Longisa of Washington State won the WCC Championship. Kaiya Robertson of Boise State finished second at the Mountain West Championship and Sylvana Northrop of UC San Diego won the Big West Championship

Men's Race 10:00


University of Oregon men dominated the Big Ten Championship and Washington State won in similar fashion at the WCC Championships. Both teams hope to maintain their 1-2 ranking and auto-qualify for NCAA Championships. California Baptist, Boise State and Stanford hope to qualify on Friday.

Abdel Laadjel of Oregon led the Ducks at the Big Ten Championship with his individual win. Solomon Kipchoge and Evans Kurui of Washington State finished 1-2 at the WCC Championship. Leo Young of Stanford finished fifth at the ACC Championships and Valentin Soca of California Baptist on the WAC Conference. Meshack Kuyo of Boise State finished fourth at the Mountain West Championship and Muhammed Ahmed of UC Davis won the Big West Championship.

Two teams and five individuals race for spots to compete at NXN at NXR Northwest. This year's race is at a new location in Spokane after many years in the Boise area.

Sehome (WA) comes into the race ranked #10 in DyeStat's latest national poll. Sehome competes in Washington's 2A division and won the state title easily last week. Idaho has three strong teams including DyeStat's #27 team Rocky Mountain and Timberline and Boise are close Idaho competitors. Lincoln (OR) is coming off the Oregon State Meet 6A championship.

Five individuals not on the top two teams qualify for NXN on Saturday. Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island qualified last year and hopes to repeat the feat. Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln and Hallie Heemeyer of Rocky Mountain will be other top challengers. Sloan Dickson of Lyndon won the Washington 2A championship last week and Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard has post season experience after racing Footlocker last December. Addison Kegel of Billings Central Catholic ran the fastest time at the Montana State Meet and Nelida Dalgas of North Salem raced closely with Ellery Lincoln.

Jesuit and Coeur d'Alene are the top two teams based on DyeStat's recent ranking. It is possible that both teams can make the podium at NXN. Coeur d'Alene, led by Wyatt Carr, won the head to head match up with Jesuit at the Hole in the Wall Invitational. Other teams contending on Saturday include Crater of Oregon, Mead of Washington, Summit of Oregon and Lincoln of Oregon.

Hyrum Tuft of Rocky Mountain (ID) ran the fastest time at the Idaho State Meet and is a contender to make it to NXN as an individual. Cohen Butler of Washington won the 4A Washington State Meet in dominating fashion. Jayden Warner from 3A Oregon school of Warrenton had the fastest time at the Oregon State Meet last week. Yosuke Shibata of South Eugene won going away from Malachi Schoenherr of Sheldon in the 6A Oregon State Meet. Garrett Faught of Crater is the first sophomore boy to break 15 on the Lane Community College course. Finn Schretenthaler of Park ran the fastest time at the Montana State Meet and Dylan Rowell of Anacortes took the win at the 2A Washington State Meet.
