The invitational season in Washington starts this weekend at the 26th annual Bellarmine Prep Invitational. The early season 2-mile course on the campus of Bellarmine Prep is a competitive introduction to the season.

Girls Varsity

Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island is entered in Saturday's meet and last year set the course record in a time of 10:42.2. Ciana Johnson of Ballard set a 3A Washington State Meet record in the 800 in a time of 2:08.61 and will be another runner to watch Saturday. Nina Blavka of Auburn Riverside, Sophia Cool of Bishop Blanchet and Charlotte White of Curtis are other strong individuals racing Saturday. Bishop Blanchet girls look to be the class of the team field.

Boys Varsity

Mana Voss of Central Kitsap is the top returner from last year's Bellarmine Prep Invitational. Other boys to watch on Saturday are Matthew Lawrence of Mercer Island, Huston Campbell of Bishop Blanchet and David McClain of Central Kitsap. The boy's team competition will be a tight affair between Mercer Island, Bishop Blanchet, Stadium and Curtis.
