We drove up to Chambers Bay Regional Park in Washington to take pictures of the boys and girls varsity races. Here is a recap of the four races:
Boys Varsity
In the boy's silver varsity race, Nakai Ornelas of Medical Lake and Michael Marlow of White River ran evenly in the first half of the race with Landon Smith of Medowdale in close pursuit. At the finish Marlow of White River came away with the victory with a time of 16:23.0. Ornelas of Medical Lake finished second and George Kosseff of Juanita finishing third. Meadowdale boys team dominated the silver race with Liberty (Issaquah) and Pope John Paul II finishing second and third.
Connor Boyle of Tahoma and Issac Benjamin of South Kitsap made it the halfway point the race together in the gold varsity race. Boyle of Tahoma pulled away from the field with a win on the 5000 meter course in a time of 14:56.9. Benjamin of South Kitsap finished second and Dima Serafimovici of Curtis came in third. Issaquah continues its defense of their 4A title with a team victory with host school Curtis in second and Tahoma finishing third.

Girls Varsity
Lena Duryee of Juanita took the lead at the halfway mark of the girl's silver varsity race. In the second half of the race, Margaret Champlain of Liberty (Issaquah) finished strong for the win at 19:13.5. Duryee of Juanita claimed second place and Grace Coonrod of Eatonville finished third. Liberty (Issaquah) won the girls silver varsity team championship with Prairie finishing second and Stadium taking third.
Elektra Higgins of Peninsula took out the girl's gold race out in a fast pace with Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard following. Higgins of Peninsula finished first in a scorching time of 17:00.8, Armstrong finished with a time of 17:08.5 and Latham West finished third in a time of 17:41.4. Gig Harbor girls won the gold team competition with Issaquah second and Sunset of Oregon in third.
