Wildwood Running is hosting their fourth annual Wildwood Mile at Lincoln High School in downtown Portland. The event starts at 4:30 on Saturday, February 28th with community mile races and then the competitive mile starts at 5:10.
The last of the of the 14 heats of the competitive mile concludes with a number of accomplished runners. Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln is entered in the mile and Lincoln won the 6A Oregon girls cross country championship in November. Latham West of Bonney Lake and Sydney Kosa of Olympia travels down from Washington for the Wildwood Mile. Kosa finished second and West third at the 4A Washington Cross Country State Championship in November. Ashlin Mallon of Cardinal Newman finished sixth at the division 5 California State Cross Country Meet. Maddie Carney of Caldera is entered and won the 5A Oregon Cross Country Championship in November. Top ten finishers in November's 6A Oregon Cross Country Championship are entered include Avery Meier of West Salem, Lauren Gerlach of Tualatin, Naomi Cesar of Sunset, Eleanor Wyatt of West Linn, Maeve O'Scannlain of Jesuit and Elyse Henriksen of Lincoln
