Seventeen athletes have seed times under five minutes in the girl's mile and will provide for a fast race. Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln won this event last year and set the meet record of 4:39.37. Lincoln ran a 4:35 mile back in February at the Wildwood Mile. Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island travels south to race in Portland. Rodriguez won the 3A 1600 and 3200 titles spring and won the 3A cross country title in Washington back in November. Sisters Iris, Remy and Reese Latta from South Texas Heat Homeschool have all broken five minute in the mile. Hallie Heemeyer of Rocky Mountain and Audrey Orme of Boise qualified for NXN in December should be in the front pack.

Yosuke Shibata of South Eugene

Michael Slagowski of Rocky Mountain broke four minutes in the mile at the Nike Jesuit Twilight Relays in 2016 and there is a possibility of athletes breaking four minutes this year. Caden Leonard of South Lake Carroll (TX) ran 4:00.07 at an indoor meet earlier this year. Jackson Spencer of Herriman (UT) has a personal best of 4:02.56 this season, won an incredible 3200 at the Arcadia Invitational in a record time of 8:31.80 and ran a 56 second last lap. Hometown athlete Kellen Williams of Jesuit hopes to lower his 4:08.00 mile time. Individual Northwest NXN qualifiers Yosuke Shibata of South Eugene, Cohen Butler of Camas, Garrett Faught of Crater and Dylan Rowell of Anacortes are entered in the elite mile.

Gretchen Yakaitis of Carondelet won the seeded mile at the Arcadia Invitational two weeks ago and has the fastest seed time. Ava Padilla of Monte Vista, Norah Feldt of Davis and Gioia Coudriet of Galena (NV) should easily break five minutes in the 1600 meters. Brianna Hayes of Core Butte, Lillian Hales-Yang of Davis, Kaylie O'Connell of Monte Vista and Carina Nottingham of Berkeley have seed times under five minutes.

Peter Kendall (3974) of Twelve Bridges

Peter Kendall of Twelve Bridges, Drake Hoferer of Jesuit, Kiefer Willcox of Tahoe Truckee and Hugh Heyer of McClatchy all will look to dip under 4:10 in the 1600 and challenge Stream and Alberts.

Brooke Blume of Twelve Bridges

Josie Hill of Sonoma Academy opened her track season in late March to record her 2:06.38 time and hopes to lower that mark. Ava Padilla of Monte Vista is running the 1600 and returns to the track as the closest challenger to Hill based on her 2:10.69 season best. Brianna Hayes of Core Butte and Brooke Blume of Twelve Bridges are other athletes to watch.

Patrick Pinjuv (4009) of Union Mines

The goal of breaking nine minutes in the boy's 3200 is quite possible. Andres Lomeli of Kimball won his heat at Arcadia Invitational two weeks ago with his 8:58.02 time. Lomeli is also listed in the 1600 meter race. Arcadia Invitational also helped Elias Thronson of Davis, Maseco Colombant of Reno and Landon Warriner of McClatchy run under 9:10 and have a chance to break nine minutes on Saturday night.
