Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays - April 26

Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays is one of the last invitationals in the Oregon high school track season and every year there are exciting results. This year was no different.



The boys elite mile had a deep field with a potential to make some news. The boys were led through the 800 in a 2:03 time. With a lap to go, Nathan Neil of Bozeman took a slight lead and ran the last 400 in 57.9 to win in a time on of 4:01.31 for the second fastest high school mile of the season. Owen Powell of Mercer Island finished second in 4:02.04 for the third fastest mile time in the US. Josiah Tostenson of Crater finished third for the fourth fastest mile time of the season (his 3:46 1500 time en route is the fastest junior time for the state of Oregon). Asher Danielson of Ida B Wells 4:04.10 is the fifth fastest high school mile of the season and Vincent Recupero of Bishop Blanchet 4:06.79 is the eighth fastest time of the year.


South Eugene DMR Victory

Caldera High School boys won by almost four seconds in the 4 X 800 in a time of 8:06.68 with Rocky Mountain finishing second. South Eugene boys by over three seconds in the distance medley in a time of 10:24.92 and Jesuit finished second.

Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln win the elite mile

Like last week's mile at Oregon Relays, Chloe Huyler of Lakeridge and Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island led the elite mile at lap three. Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln 1:05.6 last lap to get the win in 4:43.00 for US #6 and a new meet record. Huyler finished second at 4:46.22 (she ran 4:44 at Arcadia earlier in the month), Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island was third at 4:46.48 for US #10, Emma Bennett of Jesuit 4:47.64 finished fourth for US #11 and Lauren Ayers of Tualatin finished fifth in 4:48.45 for US #12.


Camas wins the 4 X 800

Camas girls 4 X 800 dominated the 4 X 800 with a strong last leg by Eliisa Marshall in a time of 9:22.44 with Rocky Mountain finishing second 9:28.83. Oregon Episcopal, with a strong 1600 meter leg by Lauren Tittel, to win the distance medley in a time 12:18.34. Host school Jesuit finished second.

Zachary Leader of Redmond wins the 3200

The highlight of the day portion of the Nike/Jesuit Relays was the boys 3200 with Zachary Leader of Redmond (WA) breaking nine in a time of 8:59.03. Ty Cirino of Central finished second in 9:00.51.

Elektra Higgins of Peninsula wins the 3200

Elektra Higgins of Peninsula won the girls 3200 in a time of 10:31.42 for the #3 Washington time. Victoria Rodriguez of Mercer Island finished second in a time of 10:35.75 for #4 Washington time.

Jane Roloff of Hoquiam ran the fastest 1500 girl's time in 4:37.25 and Caleb Doddington of Crater ran 3:54.54 ran the fastest boy's time.
