Carlo Prandini Girls Championship Race - Friday

Clovis separates the Friday and Saturday races by school attendance. The schools racing on Friday have under 1900 students in their school. In the girl's championship race, Oak Park (7th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes), Santa Margarita (13th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes), St Francis of Sacramento (#29 in the recent DyeStat rankings) and Archie Williams (the #1 team in a recent NCS ranking) are some of the teams challenging for the team title.

Individually the top runners include freshman Alyssa Gutierrez of St Francis (Sacramento), Alahna Thomas of Santa Margarita, Giselle Fernandez of Riverbank, Ashlin Mallon of Cardinal Newman, Kathleen Lambe and Tabitha Brown of Oak Park, Amaya Bharadwaj of Palo Alto, Isabella Ramos of Point Loma, Delaney Napierala of Oaks Christian, Becky Osario and Kamilah Salim of West Torrance, Isla Terrill of Monrovia and Amelia Sarkisian of Brentwood.

Teams to watch in the boy's championship race on Friday include Viewpoint (#1 SS D5), Foothill Technology (#2 SS D4), Santa Margarita (#2 SS D3), Oak Park (#3 SS D3) and St Mary's College (#1 NCS).

There are a number of athletes that will compete in the front pack including Olly O'Connor of Viewpoint, Andrew Lomeli of Kimball, Henry Hauser of Menlo Schools, Ryan Fitzpatrick of Nueva, Dylan Mehnert of West Torrance, Dorian Bening of Agoura and Tucker Preshnell of St. Mary's College.

Nationally ranked teams line up on Saturday at the girl's championship race including JSerra (#2 DyeStat), Buchanan (#6 Dyestat) and El Toro (#19 DyeStat). Other teams of note are Claremont (11th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes), Santiago- Corona (12th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes) and Mira Costa (15th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes).

Chiara Dailey of La Jolla leads a deep field of girls. Other girls on note include Braelyn Combe and Taylor Davis of Santiago-Corona, Charlotte Hopkins of Arcadia, Millie Bayles of Trabuco Hills, Kaia Streadbeck, Reese Holley and Chloe Elbaz of JSerra, Aelo Curtis of Ventura, Layla Merancio and Brooklyn Buckley of Buchanan, Isabella Ramirez of Bullard, Summer Wilson of Irvine, Isla Bulmer and Grace Smith of Claremont, Elizabeth Jacklin of MLK, Isabella Ruiz of Ontario, Ava Crocker and Gweneth Williams of El Toro and Nadia Mejia of Long Beach Wilson.

The boy's championship race should be a rematch from Woodbridge with Herriman of Utah and Jesuit of Carmichael racing for national prominence. Other teams to watch include Mira Costa that recently won Nike Portland XC, Redondo Union (#5 at Woodbridge Sweepstakes), Woodbridge (9th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes) and Mountain View (10th at Woodbridge Sweepstakes).

Much like the girl's championships race on Saturday, the boy's field is deep. Herriman has a duo of Jackson Spencer and Eli Jarvis and Jesuit counters with Isaac Abbott and Connor Bilodeau. Other athletes that will compete for top spots include Conor Lott of Clovis North, Maximo Zavaleta of MLK, Matteo Sanchez and Mario Montoya of Redondo Union, Aidan Antonio and Aiden Zavala of Woodbridge, Yohan Anderson of San Clemente, Mason Nguyen and Hassan Syed of Beckman, Albert Jacinto of Chaffey, Ryan Chen of Mountain View, Oliver Hunter of Dana Hills, Benjamin Fernandez of Matilda Torres, Chase Manning of Tesoro, Elias Thronson of Davis and Carson Ehman and Krish Desai of Mira Costa.

Rose City Championship Invite - October 10

Rose City Golf Course - Portland, OR


Lincoln of Portland hosts the fifth annual Rose City Championship on Friday and here are the athletes to watch in the championship races.


Girls Championship

Schools vying for the team championship in the last girl's race include Sherwood, Summit, host Lincoln and Sunset. Individuals that will shine include Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln, Nelida Dalgas of North Salem, Elissa Schaffer and Naomi Cesar of Sunset, Evangeline Johnson-Hess of South Eugene, Lauren Gerlach of Tualatin, Maddie Carney of Caldera, Eleanor Wyatt of West Linn, Marli Phelps of Central Catholic and Sophie Schoolmeester of Banks.


Boys Championship

The top teams in the boy's championship race include host Lincoln, Ida B Wells, Summit and Sherwood. Malachi Schoenherr of Sheldon and Yosuke Shibata of South Eugene will revive the Eugene rivalry on the Rose City Golf Course. Other athletes to watch include Jayden Warner of Warrenton, Malcolm Dimoff, Joshua Prince and Peter James of Lincoln, George Lora of Ida B Wells, Kaiji Alleman of Central Catholic, Bjorn Blankenship of Summit and Paul Hretcanu of Tigard.
